RUN LOLA RUN

The ball is round, a game lasts 90 minutes, everything else is pure theory. Off we go!”

The ball is round, a game lasts 90 minutes, everything else is pure theory. Off we go!” ~ RUN LOLA RUN In the film "RUN LOLA RUN" (1998, Tykwer), we are exposed to three distinct categories: video-game like, ticking sound, and fast movement. The meanings behind "RUN LOLA RUN" are what if, where we come from, sacrifice, choices, and outcomes-- to prove or support these meanings are fast movements, video-game like, and ticking sounds. The ticking sound is used in the film as her mind, ideas, the time she has left, or to make her aware. In our life time there is always a ticking sound; when we have children, get married, grow up, work, enjoy life, think, attend school, choices, how to be mature, and to make us aware of things that are right or wrong, the ticking sound symbolizes choices.Video-game like, every time Lola began to run, the scene moved to her cartoon self like, that reminded me of a video game because she was on a mission. When we play video games: Sims, Grand Theft Auto, Social Life, and Call of Duty, we get lost into the game and forget reality; we are in our fantasy world that we created or entering a world that is different that we’re not use to. In "RUN LOLA RUN" she enters in a mission to help her boyfriend that has some sacrifices, she has this screaming power and great running scenes, but every time a villain came or a person got in her way it ruins her outcomes in her choices. Until her last choice that succeeds, she wins her game.Fast movement, everything that goes around us in a fast movement; our life, even though some of us do not notice, our lives transitions fast in front of our eyes. In the choices we make, people in our lives go or stay, and how we grow up. Everything moves in a fast movement for Lola the people that she bumps into, lives transition, moves so quickly that ended up badly in her two choices, and because of that she had to make quick choices in a fast movement.I love this film, colors, and the music. The music and red hair gives you a vibrant edge , which is what the whole movie is about. I recommend everyone to see this film.
